Maintaining a healthy Valheim server sometimes requires removing problem players. This guide covers all methods for kicking and banning players.
Kicking Players In-Game

- 2Press Ctrl to switch to Remote/Server mode
- 3Type: kick <PlayerName>
- 4The player will be disconnected but can rejoin
Banning Players In-Game
Permanently ban players via console.
ban <PlayerName>Ban a player permanently
Example: ban Steve
unban <PlayerName>Remove a player's ban
Example: unban Steve
bannedList all banned players

- 2Open or create bannedlist.txt
- 3Add Steam64 IDs, one per line
- 4Save the file
- 5The server will load bans on restart or automatically
Tip
- Use steamid.io to find Steam64 IDs
