Best Practices for Subuser Management
Follow these recommendations for secure and effective subuser management

✅ Do

  • • Only grant necessary permissions
  • • Regularly review subuser access
  • • Use descriptive names/emails
  • • Remove inactive subusers
  • • Test permissions after setup
  • • Be extra cautious with backup and reinstall permissions
  • • Regularly audit permission usage via logs

❌ Don't

  • • Grant full permissions unnecessarily
  • • Share subuser credentials
  • • Leave unused subusers active
  • • Ignore permission conflicts
  • • Skip permission testing
  • • Grant reinstall permissions without careful consideration
  • • Allow backup deletion without proper oversight
Common Issues and Solutions

Subuser can't see the server

Ensure the email address matches their account exactly and they have at least basic read permissions.

Permission changes not taking effect

Ask the subuser to log out and log back in, or refresh their browser completely.

Can't add subuser with specific email

The person must already have an account on the panel system with that exact email address.
