Arma Reforger join queue and slot hold, explained

The join queue lets players wait in line while your Arma Reforger server is full. Join queue size sets how many can wait, from 0 to 50, and 0 turns the queue off. Hold a slot after a disconnect sets how long a slot is kept for a player who dropped.

In the ArthOS panel

1. Open your server and choose the Config Editor tab.
2. In the Players group, find Join queue size. Its help text reads “Players who can wait in line while the server is full. 0 turns the queue off. The game allows 50.” Enter a number from 0 to 50.
3. In the same group, find Hold a slot after a disconnect (seconds). Its help text reads “How long a slot stays reserved for a player who dropped, so they can rejoin a full server.” Enter a number from 5 to 300.
4. Press Save, then restart the server. The banner says “Saved changes apply after a restart.”

On a new Loafhosts server the queue starts at 50, not Bohemia’s 0.

What each setting does

Join queue size is operating.joinQueue.maxSize in config.json. Bohemia describes it as the most people that can be in the join queue at one time. The range is 0 to 50 and the default is 0, which is off. Bohemia added the queue in game version 1.2.1.

Hold a slot after a disconnect is operating.slotReservationTimeout. Bohemia describes it as how long, in seconds, the backend and server reserve a slot for a kicked player. The range is 5 to 300 and the default is 60. Bohemia says it counts as disabled at the minimum value, 5, the same as a normal disconnect.

See the queue

The header at the top of the server page shows the player count and the queue next to it, so you can see the players and the queue at a glance.

The queue only fills when the server is full. If you want more room, raise the player limit instead. See change the maximum players.

Admins and the queue

Identity IDs skip the join queue. The Admins help text in the Config Editor says so: admins listed there can log in as admin without the password, and you can list up to 30. Bohemia says admins added by Steam ID are not supported for the queue. See add admins.

Keep the other values in operating. Restart the server.

If it does not work

• Nobody can wait in line. The queue is off. Set Join queue size above 0.
• A change does nothing. These settings are read at start. Restart the server.
