No. A Valheim server cannot see or change what a player carries. The game keeps each player’s character, inventory, food and skills in the player’s own game, on their own computer. The server never holds them. This is true of every Valheim server, not only yours. More about the game: Valheim servers.
Why the server cannot see it
A Valheim dedicated server passes messages between players. It checks who may join: the id, the lists, the password and the game version. It does not run the game itself. The players’ own games do that for the area around them. So the server has no inventory to read.
What the panel can show
Turn on the panel tools and the Players page shows more about each player who is online. The panel tools are a small plugin of Loafhosts’ own that runs inside the server. Players install nothing.
For each online player you see:
- their health, like “80 of 100 health”
- where they are in the world
- what they hold and wear, as the game reports it to the server
This is a view of the player’s character at that moment. It is not their whole inventory, and you cannot change it.
Turn the panel tools on
- Open the Players page.
- Choose Turn on panel tools.
- Confirm. The panel adds its plugin and turns on mod loading. If the server has no mod loader yet, it installs one first. The server stops and starts again.

Giving items
You cannot put an item into a player’s inventory. Open a player’s card on the map and choose Give item (box 1). The panel asks the game to drop the item at the player’s feet. The player picks it up.

Inventory editors
People search for a Valheim inventory editor or player editor. Programs of that kind change a character file on the player’s own computer. A server has no such file. So the server host cannot use one to change a player’s items, food or skills. Only the player can, on their own PC, and only by changing their own character.
If it does not work
- You do not see health or what a player holds. The panel tools are off, or the server has not restarted since you turned them on. Restart it once. Without the tools, the Players page lists players by name only.
- Give item fails. The player must be online, and your role must allow in-game actions.
