To restart a Rust server with a warning, open the Players page, choose Save now, then pick 1, 5 or 10 minutes under Restart with warning. A restart with no warning drops everyone mid-raid. The ArthOS panel gives players time to get somewhere safe first.
1. Open the players page
The players page shows the join line, ready to copy, beside players, queue, server FPS and uptime. The server tools sit on the same page: save the world, set the time and weather, and restart with a warning.
2. Save the world first
Choose Save now before you restart, so the world on disk is up to date when the server goes down.
3. Restart with a warning
Under Restart with warning, pick how long players get: 1, 5 or 10 minutes. Players are warned in chat as the time runs down, at 10, 5 and 1 minutes and again 10 seconds before, and the page shows the countdown. Changed your mind? Cancel restart stops it.
Want to tell players why? Send it from Message everyone on the same page. It shows in the game chat from SERVER.
4. Changes that need a restart
Settings saved to server.cfg are read on the next start, so a warned restart is also the friendly way to apply them. On update day, a restart after the update is live also brings the new game build: see forced wipe day.
If it does not work
- The restart buttons are missing or refuse to work. You need the permission to control the server. Ask the server owner.
- The countdown disappeared. The countdown is held in the panel’s memory, so a panel restart drops it. Open the players page and start it again.
- Players were not warned. The warning is sent to the game chat. If the server was stopped, there is nobody to tell and nothing to restart.
- You need to restart at once. Choose Cancel restart, then restart from the top of the server page.
Other commands you can run from the console: Rust admin commands. To restart on a schedule, see the wipe scheduler.
