Disable the crosshair on your DayZ server

Switch on Disable Crosshair on the Startup page and restart. The crosshair is then hidden for players on your DayZ server at every start.

Updated , checked on DayZ 1.29

To hide the crosshair on your DayZ server, switch on Disable Crosshair on the Startup page, save, and restart. The setting behind it is disableCrosshair, which Bohemia describes as “Toggles the cross-hair” (0 is off, 1 is on).

In the ArthOS panel

  1. Open your server and choose Startup.
  2. Find Disable Crosshair (1) and switch it on.
  3. Choose Save.
  4. Restart the server. The panel writes the value into serverDZ.cfg every time the server starts, so it applies at the next start.
The Startup page with the Disable Crosshair switch
  1. Switch on Disable Crosshair

The Config Editor shows the same setting as No crosshair (“Hide the crosshair.”). That row is locked and sends you to Startup with an Open Startup link.

By hand

If you host the server yourself, set this line in serverDZ.cfg:

disableCrosshair = 1;

Use 0 to show the crosshair again. Restart afterwards. The setting is listed in DayZ: Server Configuration.

If it does not work

  • The crosshair is still there. You did not restart after saving.
  • The setting went back after you edited the file in Files. On the ArthOS panel the Startup page writes this line at every start and undoes a hand edit. Use the Startup switch.

The game’s own page is DayZ.
