VEIN admin menu: open it and what it can do

Admins press backslash in game to open the VEIN admin menu: kick, ban, heal, give items and teleport. The panel cannot do these for you.

The admin menu is a menu inside the game. Admins and super admins open it by pressing backslash (\) while they are in the server. Kicking a player, banning one who is on now, healing, giving items and teleporting are done there. The panel cannot do them, because the game takes no such request from outside. VEIN has no RCON (a way to send commands to a server from outside), and the Console page runs nothing the game acts on.

Open it

  1. Make sure you are an admin. See make yourself admin.
  2. Join the server in the game.
  3. Press backslash (\).

If nothing opens, you are not an admin at this start. The admin lists are read when the server starts.

What it is for

The Players page says that these are only in the game’s admin menu:

  • Kick a player.
  • Ban a player who is on now.
  • Heal a player.
  • Give items.
  • Teleport.

Not checked on 0.025 as of 27 October 2026: the exact names of the buttons, every other thing the menu offers, and which game settings it can change. Ramjet Studios decides that, and it can change with a hotfix.

What the panel can do instead

The Players page covers what the game reads at its start and what is safe to do from outside:

  • Lists for Super admins, Admins, Whitelist and Banned. These apply at the next start.
  • Message everyone, Save now and Restart with a warning.
  • On the Map, where each player is now. Teleporting and healing are in the game.

Settings: panel or menu

The Config Editor changes game settings in the files, and they apply at the next start. Change a setting in one place, so you know which value is in use. Not checked on 0.025 as of 27 October 2026: which value wins when the menu and the files disagree. Settings in the files are written while the server is stopped.

Who gets the menu

Only players on Super admins or Admins. Super admins can also make and remove admins in game.

If it does not work

  • Backslash does nothing. You are not on a loaded admin list. Check Super admins and Admins on the Players page for Not loaded at this start, then choose Restart at the top right of the server page.
  • A keyboard without a backslash key. Not checked on 0.025 as of 27 October 2026 whether the key can be changed in the game’s settings.
