Link Minecraft chat to Discord with DiscordSRV

Install DiscordSRV, make a Discord bot, paste its token and a channel ID into plugins/DiscordSRV/config.yml and restart. Chat then flows both ways.

Updated , checked on Minecraft Java 26.3

Install DiscordSRV on Paper or Purpur, restart once, then put your bot’s token and one Discord channel ID into plugins/DiscordSRV/config.yml and restart again. After that, chat in that channel shows up in the game and game chat shows up in Discord.

On a Purpur 26.3 server, checked 11 October 2026, the panel’s Install dialog offered DiscordSRV 1.30.5.

Make the bot in Discord

You need to be able to manage the Discord server.

  1. Go to the Discord developer portal and choose New Application.
  2. Open the application’s Installation settings. Turn off User Install and set Install Link to None.
  3. Open its Bot settings. Turn on SERVER MEMBERS INTENT and MESSAGE CONTENT INTENT. Leave PUBLIC BOT off so nobody else can add your bot.
  4. In the same place choose Reset Token and copy the token. Discord shows it once.
  1. Open the application’s General Information page and copy the Application ID. Open https://scarsz.me/authorize, paste the ID, pick your Discord server and choose Authorize.
  2. In Discord, open your user settings, then Advanced, and turn on Developer Mode. Right click the channel you want and choose Copy Channel ID.
  3. In your Discord server settings, make a role for the bot and give it the permissions DiscordSRV needs. The DiscordSRV setup page lists a smaller set of permissions. Use that set instead of Administrator, so the bot has only what it needs. Give the role to the bot.

In the ArthOS panel

  1. Open Add-ons, then Plugins. Under Find plugins choose Modrinth, search for DiscordSRV and choose Install. Choose Restart now.
  2. Open Files and go to plugins/DiscordSRV. The folder appears after the first start.
  3. Open config.yml. Set the token on the BotToken line, and the channel in Channels:
BotToken: "paste the token here"
Channels: {"global": "123456789012345678"}

global is the in-game chat channel. Replace the number with the channel ID you copied. Keep the quotes. 4. Optional: to send the server console to a second Discord channel, set DiscordConsoleChannelId to its ID. Anything typed in that channel runs as a console command, so only let your top staff see it. 5. Save the file and restart the server from Console.

Once the server is up, type a message in the Discord channel. It should appear in game chat. A message from a player in game appears in the channel.

By hand

  1. Download DiscordSRV-Build-1.30.5.jar from Modrinth.
  2. Upload it to the plugins folder and restart. This creates plugins/DiscordSRV.
  3. Edit config.yml as above and restart.

In game, an operator can type /discordsrv reload to reload the plugin. Some changes need a restart. /discordsrv link lets a player start linking their own Discord account.

If it does not work

  • The console says the bot token is invalid. The token was copied wrong, or you reset it after copying. Reset it again and paste the new one.
  • The bot is online but Discord messages do not reach the game. The two intents are off, or the bot cannot read that channel. Turn on both intents and check the bot role’s channel permissions.
  • Nothing in Discord at all. The channel ID is wrong, or you pasted a server ID. Copy the channel ID with Developer Mode on.
  • The plugin fails to load on 26.3. Read the first error in logs/latest.log. The DiscordSRV project only supports its latest release.
