Pixelmon is a mod that adds Pokémon to Minecraft. Its newest build, Pixelmon 9.4.1 (16 September 2026), is made for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge. The easiest server is the official pack: open Add-ons, choose Modpacks, search for “The Pixelmon Modpack” and install it.
Pixelmon’s own pages list no Minecraft 26.3 build. A Pixelmon build for another Minecraft version does not load on a 26.3 server, so the panel sets up the pack’s own Minecraft version. The pack needs NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1. You do not have to set that up: the panel replaces the server software for you.
Where it is published and which version
As of 11 October 2026:
| What | Where | Newest file |
|---|---|---|
| The Pixelmon mod | CurseForge and Modrinth | 9.4.1, Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge |
| The Pixelmon Modpack | CurseForge and Modrinth | 9.4.1, Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge (17 September 2026) |
Older builds exist for 1.20.2 and 1.20.1 (Forge), 1.16.5 and 1.12.2. The pack’s page says it includes the Pixelmon mod, the Pixelmon OST, JourneyMap, Oh The Biomes You’ll Go, Nature’s Compass and Explorer’s Compass.
On CurseForge, the pack’s page lists server files only for older 1.16.5 versions. For 9.4.1 it shows none, and the panel’s list does not mark it “has a server pack”. The panel builds the server from the pack’s own file list instead.
In the ArthOS panel
- Ordering a new server? Choose Modpack, then Choose a modpack. Pick a larger size than a plain server. Already have a server? Open Add-ons.
- Choose Modpacks. In Find a modpack, search CurseForge or Modrinth for “The Pixelmon Modpack”.
- Press Install on the pack. A list of versions opens, newest first. Press Choose beside the one you want and read the plan. For 9.4.1 (17 September 2026) it reads: NeoForge 21.1.248 for Minecraft 1.21.1, on Java 21, 11 files (88.6 MB). On a server with 4.3 GB of memory the panel showed no memory warning. If your server has less than the panel expects for a pack, the plan warns you.
- Leave Start a new world ticked unless you know your old world fits. The plan says a backup is taken first, and that the server is unavailable while it runs. Press Install.
- Start the server and watch the console while it loads.
The pack’s pages give no memory figure. The panel showed no memory warning for 9.4.1 on a server with 4.3 GB. That is not a recommended size. Not checked as of 11 October 2026: how much memory Pixelmon needs with several players.
Install the mod alone
The mod is also on its own, under Add-ons, then Mods. Your server must already run NeoForge on 1.21.1, or the build for the version you pick. CurseForge lists the mod’s environment as Client, and Modrinth as client and server. The two sources disagree on whether the server needs it; use the pack, which the panel builds for a server. See install a mod.
Players need the same version
Each player installs The Pixelmon Modpack at the same version with the CurseForge app or the Modrinth app. A different version, loader or Minecraft version stops them joining.
If it does not work
- Players cannot join. Compare their pack version with the server’s.
- The server runs out of memory. Pick a larger size. See Minecraft out of memory.
- The search does not show the pack. Search for its exact name, “The Pixelmon Modpack”.
