BaseBuildingPlus (BBP) is a Workshop mod that replaces and extends DayZ base building. To run it, load BBP and its required mod CF, then merge BBP’s types.xml entries into your server’s loot file. Without that last step, the mod’s own author warns that parts will despawn.
BBP is Workshop item 1710977250. Its Workshop page lists one required item, called CF (Community Framework). CF is Workshop item 1559212036. See DayZ Community Framework for what it does.
In the ArthOS panel
BBP is a mod that every player must also load, so it goes in Additional Mods, not in [Advanced] Server-Side Only Mods.
- Stop the server.
- Open Startup.
- Turn Automatic Updates on. At the next start, the server downloads each mod listed as an ID, makes a folder for it such as
@1559212036, and copies the mod’s.bikeyfiles intokeys. You do not need a Steam login. - In Additional Mods, add both mods in the
@ID;form, with a semicolon after each. No spaces, no capital letters. The order you type them in does not matter, because the list is sorted before it is used. See DayZ mod load order.
@1559212036;@1710977250;
- Start the server and let the mods download. The first start takes longer. Watch Console for each mod’s download message.
- Stop the server again. In Files, open
@1710977250, then itsinfofolder. The mod’s author provides atypes.xmlthere. Open it. - Add those
<type>entries to your loot file, as described below. Then start the server.
If you do not use Automatic Updates, upload the mod folders yourself and list them in Additional Mods by folder name, in lowercase. Copy each mod’s .bikey into keys too.
Merge the loot entries
The author’s instruction is to merge the mod’s types.xml with your server’s types.xml, and marks it as important to prevent despawning.
Your server’s file is at mpmissions/<mission>/db/types.xml. The mission folder is dayzOffline.chernarusplus for Chernarus, dayzOffline.enoch for Livonia and dayzOffline.sakhal for Sakhal. The cleaner way is to leave the vanilla file alone:
- Make a folder in the mission folder, for example
custom. - Copy BBP’s
types.xmlthere and rename itbbp_types.xml. - Open
cfgeconomycore.xmlin the mission folder. Before</economycore>, add:
<ce folder="custom">
<file name="bbp_types.xml" type="types" />
</ce>
Bohemia introduced this folder system in game update 1.08 so that admins and mods can add to the vanilla files without editing them. More on the file itself: DayZ types.xml loot.
Do this once for each map you run. Each map has its own mission folder.
By hand
- Subscribe to CF and BaseBuildingPlus on the Workshop and copy both folders from the Workshop download into the server root.
- Copy BBP’s
.bikeyfile from itskeysfolder into your server’skeysfolder. Do the same for CF. - Add the mods to the start command:
-mod=@CF;@BaseBuildingPlus. By hand, the order in-mod=is the load order. See DayZ mod load order. - Merge
types.xmlas above.
The Workshop page names the folder @BaseBuildingPlus. Use whatever folder names your files have.
Updating
Stop the server and make a backup first. Replace the mod folder with the new one. Read the mod’s change notes on the Workshop for any instruction, such as new items that need types.xml entries.
If it does not work
- Players are kicked when they join. Their mods do not match yours. Players need both CF and BaseBuildingPlus. See DayZ mismatched mods kick.
- The server does not load BBP. Check Additional Mods: IDs need an
@and a semicolon, with no spaces. - Built parts vanish after a while. The
types.xmlentries are missing. Merge them as above. - A mod downloaded from a Windows computer is not loading. Turn [Repair] Make Mod Files Lowercase on for one start.
