When DayZ cannot join or drops you, it shows a code like 0x00040031 with a short message. Find the code in the tables below. Bohemia publishes the list, and the meaning of each code here is from it.
A code has two parts. The first four digits after 0x are the group: 0001 and 0002 are errors while joining, 0004 means the player was kicked. The last four say which one. So 0x00040031 is group 0004 (kicked), code 0031.

Login

The other login codes, 0x00040030 to 0x00040045, are about the server failing to create or load the player’s character (for example “Database connection timed out” and “Character data check failed”). Bohemia gives no fix for them. A restart is the first thing to try. If one keeps coming back, contact support with the code.
Steam and BattlEye
0x000400C3means the player is VAC banned for this game. Nothing on your server changes it.- BattlEye shows its own messages, such as “Client not responding” and “Query Timeout”. BattlEye’s FAQ covers them.
